Mount Alvernia Maternity Package GuidePregnancyReviews by Michelle Gaspacho - March 14, 2016March 16, 20160 My sister is currently four months pregnant and as an older sister, I am determined to ensure her delivery is well taken care of and have a well-thought-out plan for her. The reason being she was diagnosed of Hyperthyroidism. Having that condition, my parents and I needed an assurance that my sister gives birth to a healthy baby and the delivery procedure to be calculated. Untreated thyroid diseases may lead to preeclampsia and premature birth. It’s important for us to find a well-equipped hospital and an experience doctor that we trust.I did my research online. After sharing all the information available online with my sister, she wants to find out more from Mount Alvernia Hospital and see personally what they could offer. For a single room normal delivery, the hospital bills are divided into these categories: the Hospital’s Maternity package, fee for the Gynae, Anesthetist fee and some baby expenses (like hearing tests, x-rays, etc.)Mount Alvernia offers various maternity packages. Rental of breast pump costs $21.40 and formula milk bottles costs $1 per bottle. We registered for their tour schedule and we managed to book via their online system.Monday to Friday: 2.:30 P.M. — 3.:30 P.M. Saturday: 10 A.M. – 11 A.M. and 12 P.M. – 1 P.M. *No schedules on Sundays and public holidays. We went to check for Single Room at St Michael’s Ward. The said room has iPad-controlled room lighting and a wheelchair-friendly bathroom, unlike from the Regular Single Room. Afterwhich, we proceed to visit the Delivery Suite. (Didn’t get the chance to take a photo of the delivery suite. Photo credit: singaporemotherhood.com)Amenities such as CD player, comfort room, gym balls are available. After the tour, I feel confident that this hospital is a good choice for my sister. Importantly, my sister feels comfortable with her doctor and team (service received!) and the cosy environment of the room she plans to stay in.I hope this post is able to help provide some guideline for those soon- to- be mommies whom have interest in finding out what’s available at Mount Alvernia Hospital .
