Effective Apps That Will Make Your Children Do Chores At Home

What motivates a child to do household chores simply lies on us, parents. We should be able to know what drives him/her to do simple tasks or chores at home, what works best for him/her,and what doesn’t work for your child.

As an experienced parent, the best we could do is to think of different strategies and narrow them down to the ones that will definitely work. Children are all different; there are some that will help you voluntarily while some needs constant or non-stop reminders.

If you belong to techie and modern parents who are fond of apps, then this is for you! Here I’ve compiled 4 interesting apps that can help us solve our problems. The first are the most rated down to the last one.

1. Chore Monsterchore monster

Your kids will beg to do their chores.

With ChoreMonster, it’s possible. No chore charts required. ChoreMonster is a suite of web and mobile apps that make chores fun for kids.

This is one of the most popular chore apps today. It’s very user friendly and the interface is very attractive to children. Parents assign chores to their children using the moderator user on the app while kids logged in as user, do their chores being assigned to them and earn points in exchange of real life rewards. The most interesting part is that it has an in-app reward such as collective monsters, digital content like Disney movie clips, etc.

Lickety Split (full version) availablein Apple App Store, Google Play Store, Blackberry App World ($0.99).

4. OurHome

ourhome

More organized, less effort – that’s their popular tagline.

OurHome app is for free. Imagine everything is done at home with its simple reward system that is too easy to understand and tasks that is easy to create. This is a very effective tool that will make your kids involve on all your household chores! This app is like a small social networking site wherein users can like or comment on each tasks assigned. Also, this app has an ability to send any member of the house a private message.

Although all these apps are fun to have, I do try not to keep using apps on phone. I usually try to refrain from spending too much time on mobile apps in front of my child. Just in case she follows my habit of looking at my mobile too frequently and keeps asking to play games on my mobile all the time. Balance is the key! 🙂

As a father of two beautiful kids - Max and Jac, I want to share the love, jitters, concerns and joy that they have brought the Mrs and me over the past years. It's a blessing to have Shasha, our lovely domestic helper, who is helping us to keep the house in human order with the two cute monsters at home. Join me in my experiences and daily life as a parent. PS: Having a child is a big decision, there isn't any 30 days return policy 😄
